About the girl

I made my first, shy approach to the Internet about year 2000, registering on a fanfiction forum as Isil. Later – on May 18, 2003 – my very first blog opened: and from that day a hideous number of useless sites and pages popped up undaunted.

Over the Internet people knows me as Isil, Isil-sama, or lately Charlotte de Beaufort. In real life, some call me Chan, some Mrtha, others Marti and somebody else Nièce. My standard nomenclature is Marta, but I generously allow you to choose whatever name you think suits.

I’m an Italian twentysomething with a bundle of interests. I graduated in Arts Management last year and I’m currently undergoing specialization in the same field. Governance, IP law and the media sector are my main fields of interest.

Born on November 12, I’m a proud Scorpio, INTJ, and I belong to the House of Ravenclaw. Learning is my vocation and curiosity my feature. When I’m really passionate about a subject I use to delve into it deeper than anybody normal would. This usually lasts about some months, until I find something new or more interesting. This way, I’ve accumulated sort of an amateur expertise on dogs, fantasy novels, manga and 17th century French history, not to mention a number of lesser subjects I forgot.

I’m quite a technophile, but not enough to be at the experimentation forefront. I still don’t own an iPod—and anyway I don’t want to.

My high school was about classical studies, and I’m in love with Greek and Latin history and literature—generally I’m more about humanities than science (which anyway I definitely miss). And I have a thing for learning foreign languages. Right now I speak fluent Italian (guess what, it’s my mother tongue!) and English, tolerable French and much-less-than-tolerable German. Plus others I’m not listing here.

I’m always set on the highest standards, which means I tend to be overly severe in judging myself. On the other hand, I feel enough confident to believe I’m able to learn whatever I wish to. Where there’s a will there’s a way.

I’m always stuck between passion and reason, grand ideals and cynical matter-of-factness. I prize efficiency and organization, but more often than not lie on the side of multitasking and backward pass. Usually I write bolder than I speak, but irony is the same whichever the media. And it’s a lot.

Books, music and cinema are my broadest hobby interests. Alexandre Dumas, Al Pacino, Keira Knightley, Arturo Pérez-Reverte, Oscar Wilde, just to name a few. Bruce Springsteen, just to name the one. I used to play classical piano, but I kind of stopped (lamest choice) when I started university. I’m a huge music listener, anyway. Also, I’ve always been writing, ever since I was in primary school.

Other than here, actually, I used to write an Italian blog; nowadays I still journal, twit, tumble, last, delight, anobii, RYM, wish, deviate, tube, <3movies. And yes, I book faces too. As a veritable pazza, molto pazza, I’m also a lohader, dreamer and backstreeter. Oh, and I also have an email.

I’m not bad. I’m just told that way.
